Explosive intervention by JOLY Location at the Centre Pompidou

Prior to its closure for five years of renovation, the Centre Pompidou hosted a daylight pyrotechnic performance by artist Cai Guo-Qiang: "Le Dernier Carnaval" (The Last Carnival). This monumental work, deployed on the building's emblematic façade, required meticulous technical preparation.

To support this installation, JOLY Location's teams used two Ruthmann SKYperformance aerial work platforms, 65 and 75 meters long, to cover the entire façade. These high-rise platforms made it possible to carry out the installation operations in a complex environment, marked by several constraints: reduced admissible load, significant lateral offset, weight management in the basket, as well as the installation of a jib crane and specific equipment.

Thanks to rigorous planning and the versatility of its equipment, JOLY Location was able to contribute to the smooth running of this project, which combined technical requirements with artistic ambition. A mission that illustrates the company's expertise in managing large-scale projects at the crossroads of engineering and creation.
