Rhenus strengthens its global presence in renewable energy logistics

With over forty years' experience in project logistics, Rhenus is helping to drive the energy transition by supporting the growth of the renewable energies sector.
The company offers integrated services covering transport, customs, installation, maintenance and reverse logistics for players in the wind, solar and grid infrastructure sectors.

In Europe, Rhenus has contributed to several projects to connect the German energy corridor, including SuedLink, SuedOstLink, A-Nord and BorWin/DolWin 4, transporting over 2,700 cable drums. Since 2025, the company has also been handling reverse logistics, returning empty drums to production or recycling sites.

In the APAC region, Rhenus has completed around 500 shipments in 2024 related to renewable energy projects, including wind components, transformers and solar panels. In the United States, Rhenus manages the transportation and installation of hydrogen fuel cells, with over 100 installations completed by 2025 on the East Coast.

The company is also developing recycling and equipment dismantling services, as well as river transport solutions for large components such as wind turbine blades. At the same time, it is experimenting with alternative fuels- HVO100, B100 biodiesel or hydrogen - to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations.

" We support our customers' decarbonization strategies by offering efficient transport with low environmental impact ," says Moritz Becker, Co-VP Director of Rhenus Project Logistics.

Rhenus continues to invest in logistics infrastructures adapted to renewable energies, notably in Cuxhaven, Rotterdam, Strasbourg and several regions inAsia and America.
