Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (Mitsubishi Fuso) and Hino Motors Ltd (Hino) today announced the name of their future holding company: ARCHION Corporation, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Operations are scheduled to start on April 1, 2026, following the final agreement signed on June 10, 2025 between Daimler Truck AG and Toyota Motor Corporation.
The name ARCHION, a combination of "arch" (link) and "eon" (sustainable future), symbolizes the group's mission: "to build the future of commercial mobility ", placing the customer at the heart of the transformation and contributing to more sustainable transport.
ARCHION will aim to strengthen the competitiveness of its FUSO and HINO brands through an integrated platform strategy combining their strengths in R&D, purchasing, production and logistics. Expected synergies include: product enhancement and portfolio expansion, gains in scale and investment efficiency, consolidation of Japanese production sites into three plants by 2028 (Kawasaki, Koga, Nitta).
The savings generated will be used to accelerate investment in CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric) technologies, particularly in fuel cells and autonomous driving, thanks to the support of Toyota and Daimler Truck. ARCHION's management team will comprise : Karl Deppen, Representative Director & CEO, Hetal Laligi, Representative Director & CFO, Satoshi Ogiso, Executive Director & CTO and Christian Herrmann and Kiyotaka Ise, Non-Executive Directors.
ARCHION will be 50% owned by Daimler Truck and Toyota (25% each), and will hold 100% of the shares in Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino, with the aim of a future listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
