It's a historic turning point for MAN Truck & Bus: the Munich plant now assembles diesel and electric trucks on a single production line. This marks the start of a new era for the company, which aims to deliver 1,000 electric trucks by the end of 2025.
Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN, hails "a historic moment" and says: " MAN's future begins now. This is a very important step towards achieving our goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. The fact that we can manufacture electric trucks on the same production line as our diesel trucks also gives us great flexibility and increases production efficiency. "

Nearly €400 million has been invested in R&D to offer a complete range of vehicles, from 12 to 50 tonnes (46 tonnes in France excluding exceptional transport), with a range of up to 740 km. Even before the official launch, 200 pre-production electric trucks have covered two million kilometers in real-life conditions. Some 700 orders for electric trucks have already been signed. At the same time, over 5,000 employees have been trained in high-voltage operation. MAN, already European leader in the electric bus segment, is continuing its transformation towards carbon neutrality by 2050, supported by a massive industrial investment in the electrification of European plants, worth one billion euros over the decade.
