8.2 France's wind and solar power technical audit activities join Socotec, strengthening its subsidiary Socotec Power Services. The Socotec Group, a specialist in risk management and technical consultancy, holds 56% of the market for wind power regulatory inspections in France, inspecting over 6,500 wind turbines a year (out of the 9,500 installed in France). In the photovoltaic sector, one out of every three power plants is inspected by the Group. With the integration of 8.2 France's Audits Techniques activities, the Group is pursuing its strategy to meet the growing needs of renewable energies.

This acquisition is in line with the dynamics of a growing global market, with combined wind and solar production set to overtake that of hydroelectricity in the near future, according to Statista analyses.
