Raimondi reaches new heights in Dubai

Raimondi Middle East has deployed the region's highest climbing jib crane in Dubai. The LR213 currently operates at a height of 322 meters, with a jib of 50 m and an end load of 3.3 tons. It is mobilized on the construction of a 75-storey residential tower in Dubai.

The tightness of the site, combined with the complexity of the technical and contractual requirements, called for a high-precision approach. The Raimondi team had to replace a previous crane when the building had already reached a height of 100 metres, which complicated the operation, not least because of a pre-existing foundation. This foundation limited the admissible loads at the base, due to the existing invert and its maximum structural constraints.
The crane rests on a GR5S mast structure, including two 11.8 m sections and 100 2.95 m segments, reinforced by 12 anchor points. The technical department also redesigned the load curve to enable lifting to over 300 m, while respecting the site's structural constraints.

"The complexity of this deployment demanded an exceptional level of innovation and adaptability, underlining Raimondi's expertise in managing unconventional challenges, comments Wael Hasan, Managing Director of Raimondi Middle East. From the redesign of the base to the reconfiguration of the clamps, each step is a testament to our technical know-how and our demand for quality."
Dismantling is scheduled to take place over the next few weeks, with a controlled lowering of the crane to 50 m before complete removal by mobile crane.
