BKT targets sales of 2.6 billion USD in 2030

Indian off-road tire specialist BKT (Balkrishna Industries Ltd.) has announced its new strategic roadmap to 2030, with sales set to rise by 13% in the 2024-25 financial year. The Group has set itself a global sales target of around 2.6 billion USD, and plans to invest nearly 400 million USD over three years. This plan is structured around three priorities: strengthening leadership in Off-Highway (OHT) tires, accelerating growth in the Carbon Black market, and product diversification in the Indian market.

10% of the OHT market by 2030

In its core off-highway tire business, BKT intends to consolidate its global position in the agricultural segment and step up its development in the rubber tracks, construction and mining markets. The plant dedicated to tracks, recently approved by the management board, will be ramped up from the second half of 2026. At the same time, the mining range will be extended with All Steel Radial tires up to 57 inches. The manufacturer is also reaffirming its strategic objective of capturing 10% of the global OHT market by 2030, while strengthening its integrated industrial structure.

Geographically, our growth strategy will focus on the Americas, the domestic market and certain high-potential emerging countries, while maintaining our positions in Europe.

Another major lever is the development of the Carbon Black division. After consolidating its production capacities over the last three years, BKT is now focusing on the specialty carbon black segment, for high-performance non-tire applications. Annual capacity will thus rise from 200,000 to 360,000 metric tons by early 2026.

Range expansion

Finally, the Group is entering two new market verticals in India: radial truck and bus tires (TBR) and passenger car tires (PCR). The industrial launch of TBR is scheduled for Q4 2025-26, followed by PCR during 2026-27. These lines are expected to account for up to 20% of sales by the end of the decade. "We are entering new product categories with the same focus and consistency that has guided us in the Off-Highway vehicle sector, buoyed by the trust we have earned worldwide," says Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director of BKT.
