Toyota Material Handling integrates low-carbon steel from SSAB

Toyota Material Handling Europe becomes the first materials handling equipment manufacturer to integrate SSAB Zero steel into its production. This recycled steel is produced with fossil-free electricity and biogas. It will be used in the coming weeks on the LHM230 model, the brand's flagship hand pallet truck. This reduces CO₂ emissions by 77% across the entire value chain, compared with conventional steel
This strategic partnership with SSAB is part of an ambitious trajectory validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming for carbon neutrality by 2041.
Committed to more sustainable logistics, with the use of lithium-ion batteries, the powering of its European sites with renewable energies, and the installation of 1,400 m² of solar panels on the roof at Bussy-Saint-Georges, the company is thus confirming its commitment to being a forerunner in CSR in its sector.
