Liebherr has delivered the first LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane equipped with new driver assistance systems to the Ulferts Group. This 5-axle model, with a capacity of 110 tonnes and a 60 m boom, incorporates new technologies to facilitate driving and manoeuvring.
Several cameras and sensors monitor the front, side and rear areas, and warn of any risk of collision. For example, the MOIS start warning system is activated when a person is in front of the crane. The Blind Spot Detection System (BSIS) monitors the sides of the vehicle using a "camera mast". The Reverse Assist System (REIS) is automatically activated when reversing, and monitors the blind spots behind the crane.
The man-machine interface, via digital cockpit and additional monitor, offers the driver enhanced visibility, even in difficult conditions."These systems take a considerable burden off drivers and make their day-to-day work easier. They make it possible to monitor areas that were previously difficult or impossible to see," stresses Temmo Niekamp, co-director of Ulferts.
