Belgian company Vandijck Transport carried out a full-scale test of the new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, driving 1,530 km between Belgium and Switzerland. The company's Managing Director, Guy Vandijck, personally took the wheel to test the electric truck's range, maneuverability and fuel consumption (average 96.3 kWh/100 km). As an entrepreneur, I want to take on the challenges of electric driving myself, so that I can help my drivers as much as possible," he explains. I don't want them to feel pushed into the unknown. That's why I'll also be driving the first missions with them."
Result: a first charge after 600 km, driving comfort praised and a team motivated by this transition.

The family business has ordered two eActros 600s from 2024, for delivery in mid-2025: one for shuttle services between Limburg and Antwerp, the other for export to Zurich. "Our customers, especially large corporations, are actively demanding green alternatives today. The transport sector is a decisive lever", explains Nathalie Vandijck, Director of Vandijck Transport.
To support this development, Vandijck is also planning its own recharging infrastructure with DC terminals and photovoltaic panels. "This test drive was not only a technical success, it was also a source of motivation for our team", Guy Vandijck points out.
