Manitou Group invests in robotics with Sitia

Manitou Group announces the acquisition of Sitia's robotics division, a strategic move in line with its new LIFT roadmap. Sitia is a recognized engineering expert in test benches for industrial laboratories and technical centers. For several years now, a robotics innovation department has been dedicated to concrete innovation.
With this acquisition (which does not include the TREKTOR autonomous agricultural tractor robot), Manitou's objective is to make robotization a lever of innovation at the service of agriculture and industry. A team of seven experts, engineers and PhD students (with extensive expertise in robot development) will join the Group's R&D team. The acquisition also includes the integration of intellectual property developed by Sitia in the field of mobile robotics.
A new "Manitou Group Robotics" division will be created this year, headed by a dedicated team. Partners for almost ten years, Manitou and Sitia are taking a decisive step towards strengthening their technological leadership. "With this acquisition, we will enhance our skills with a team of recognized experts, and benefit from proven technological building blocks, combined with Manitou Group know-how. In this way, we aim to strengthen our leadership in order to continue to innovate and go even further in the development of solutions, and thus meet the new expectations of our customers", emphasizes Julien Waechter, Vice President R&D at Manitou Group.
