Wallbox and Pramac develop fast vehicle charging in Europe

Wallbox, a global specialist in charging stations for electric vehicles, has teamed up with Pramac, an expert in energy storage, to offer an integrated solution combining ultra-fast charging stations and batteries. This approach enables high-power charging solutions to be deployed in a greater number of locations without the need for major network upgrades. This reduces pressure on the electrical grid, and also optimizes costs by enabling charging sites to use stored energy during peak hours. What's more, with a single point of contact for hardware, software and services, it enables continuous operation with minimal complexity.

Thanks to this technology, energy is stored during off-peak hours, then redistributed as needed. The system is based on Wallbox's Supernova ultra-fast charger and Pramac's battery energy storage systems. At the heart of the system, the Intelligent Energy Controller (with advanced cybersecurity measures), intelligently controls the flow of energy, optimizing storage, distribution and balancing of power in real time.

"Our energy storage technology is a key component of fast charging infrastructure, as it offers a scalable and cost-effective way to deploy chargers without overloading the grid," said Igor Barakhtyanskiy, Business Group Director for Commercial and Industrial at Pramac.

"By combining our ultra-fast charging technology with Pramac's energy storage solutions, we're supporting the increase in the number of locations in Europe offering fast, reliable EV charging without the need for complex grid upgrades," points out Enric Asunción, CEO and co-founder of Wallbox.
