Heavy haulage specialist Kahl Group invested in 38 new Goldhofer PST/ES-E self-propelled trailer lines earlier this year, to boost its capacity on major infrastructure projects.
In addition to 30 PST/ES-E (315) axle lines, the order also includes 8 PST/ES-E (285) axle lines with variable track width. We opted for Goldhofer self-propelled modules because they offer unique and unrivalled traction power and performance, which is essential for our projects," explains Andreas Kahl, Managing Director of the Kahl Group. The ability of the PST/ES-E (285) modules, with a basic width of 2.43 meters, to expand under load is also of decisive importance to us. This enables us to organize our transport operations even more efficiently and safely. Widening the axles under load provides the same lateral stability as a 3,000 mm wide self-propelled transporter. With the new PST/ES-E transporters, the Kahl Group can handle complex lifting and moving operations, particularly in combination with lifting systems from Greiner, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic lifting equipment.
With 100 self-propelled axle units (PST) and around 250 towed axle units from Goldhofer, the Kahl Group has one of the largest fleets in Europe. By 2023, it had already invested in 38 axle lines from Goldhofer's new generation of FT SERIES modules. 28 of these FT lines feature extremely high bending moments, for even higher payloads, with axle load capacities ranging from 22 to 45 tonnes. In addition, this recently acquired "FT Series" perfectly complements its G² K 600 beam system, the result of collaboration between Goldhofer and Greiner, for payloads of up to 600 tonnes.
