FPT Industrial, the Iveco Group's powertrain brand, has developed new zero-emission solutions for the energy transition. Its "ePowertrain" plant, inaugurated in October 2022, is entirely dedicated to the production of electric axles for light and heavy commercial vehicles and electric central transmissions, as well as the assembly of battery packs for light commercial vehicles and buses.
The group has just presented its eAX375-R (2nd generation) electric axle, designed for medium-weight 4×2 vehicles up to 29 tonnes GVW and 6×4 trucks up to 49 tonnes GVW. Thanks to a multi-speed transmission, it offers high performance and efficiency. Another new feature is the eAX840-R, a single-speed, dual-motor electric axle originally developed for Nikola in the USA and subsequently adapted for European markets. It is designed for heavy-duty vehicles with multiple transmission ratios. Finally, with its eCD140 central drive system, FPT Industrial offers a solution for the integration of electric drive systems on existing vehicles, up to 8 tons GVW.
Finally, the XC13 engine is the brand's first multi-fuel engine: from diesel to natural gas (including biomethane), hydrogen and renewable fuels, this basic engine has been designed and developed with multiple versions to allow maximum standardization of components and minimal impact to facilitate installation on vehicles.
